Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on June 14th, 2024, Robert (Bob) Newman Sr. age 84 years.
Predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Sophie Newman; brothers: Cecil, Dawson and Arthur.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories his wife and best friend of 64 years, Sarah; son, Robert Jr (Darlene); daughters: Gail Murphy (Clary) and Darlene Brown (Joe); grandchildren: (pop’s best buddy) Justin (Joanne), Jennifer Hiscock (Shawn), Stephanie Murphy (Rodney), Meghan Murphy (Kyle), Jillian Brown (Steven), and Danielle Brown; his precious great grandchildren: Jordyn, Shawna and Harlee Hiscock, Emma and Cain Newman, Wren Noseworthy and Ivy Fallon; sisters: Lillian Watkins (Lindo), Judy Squires, Sandra Newman, Betty DeHann (Wayne), Dale Kettle (Pete), Michelle Head (Boyd); brother, Absalom (Candy); brother-in-law, Loyal Squires (Doris); sister-in-law Ella Newman.
The family would like to thank Bob’s Home Care workers Felix, Reneé and Terry-Lynn for taking good care of Bob. Also thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Health Sciences.
Cremation has taken place.
At Bob’s request there will be no visitation or burial at this time.

We are so profoundly sorry for your loss and hope that your love for family that you have treasured these many years help you through the grieving times ahead.
My dear cousin Sarah and all her lovely family, deepest sympathy to you all. Sarah, we grew up on Dogberryhill Road, went to school together and met our future husband around the same time. They were already friends. Then, life happened and we moved away, and over the years we only got to see each other occasionally, usually in Church or at flower service. I haven’t seen Bob in years. When I did know him, he was a quiet, sweet man. I know he hasn’t been well in latter years. You will miss him, but thank God he is free from pain. You know that one day you will all be together again, where there is no more pain and suffering. Sarah, this has been a sad time for you, losing dear sister Mildred and now Bob.
