Dorothy Elizabeth Lee (nee Streeter)

April 4, 1937 to June 26, 2024

Obituary

Dorothy Elizabeth Lee, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Health Science Complex in St. Johns, NL. Born on April 4, 1937, in Halifax, NS, to Sarah (Baker) and Henry Streeter, Dorothy, affectionately known as “Dot,” held many cherished roles in her life: wife, mother, nanny, GG, sister, and “dodo.”

On June 29, 1957, Dorothy married Robert (Bob) in Halifax, NS, beginning a lifelong journey of love and companionship. She spent several years working for Canada Post, where her exceptional ability to connect with people left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Dorothy’s talents extended beyond her professional life. She was a gifted baker, and her recipes have been treasured and passed down through generations. However, the most important thing to Dorothy was being surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her devoted husband Robert and their five children: Derrick, Vivian (William), Judy (Rodger), Susan (Francis), and Mary. Dorothy’s legacy also lives on through her ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Dorothy touched are invited to a service St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Goulds on Tuesday, July 2, at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

My deepest sympathies to Dot’s family at this difficult time. Dot was a friend of mom’s and would often drop up for a cup of tea. She was such a wonderful person . Rest in peace Dot.

Dot and Bob and family you’ve been our wonderful neighbor for over 40 years. When I or Brian did not pick the apples Dot and Bob would and we would have homemade apple pie or jam from the Damson tree. We were blessed to have you as our neighbor. Rest in peace Dorothy.
